Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT)
TikTok's warehousing and fulfillment service where TikTok stores your inventory and handles all shipping, packaging, and returns on your behalf.
Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) is TikTok’s version of a third-party fulfillment service. You ship your inventory to a TikTok warehouse. When a customer places an order, TikTok picks, packs, and ships it. You never touch the order after it arrives at the warehouse.
The Simple Version
FBT works the same way Amazon FBA works. You send your products to TikTok’s warehouse. TikTok handles everything else: storage, packing, shipping, and returns. You focus on selling. TikTok handles the logistics.
Why It Matters
Fulfillment is one of the hardest operational problems in e-commerce. Shipping windows, return handling, customer service on late orders. These eat time and create friction. FBT offloads that entirely in exchange for fulfillment fees (storage costs plus per-order fees).
For sellers using the TikTok Shop ecosystem, FBT has an additional benefit: products fulfilled by TikTok often receive preferential placement in the Shop Feed and tend to display faster delivery windows, which improves conversion rate.
FBT vs. Dropship
The core difference is inventory ownership. With dropship, your supplier holds the stock and ships directly to customers. With FBT, you buy and ship inventory to TikTok’s warehouse first, which means upfront cost. FBT gives you faster shipping and more consistent fulfillment quality. Dropship has no inventory risk. The right choice depends on your supplier relationship and how much capital you want to commit upfront.
How It’s Used on This Site
FBT is explained in the TikTok Shop blog series as the highest-control fulfillment option for sellers willing to invest in inventory upfront. This glossary entry connects it to dropship and wholesale reseller so readers can compare all three fulfillment models.
